Dr. Dan Ramdath is a globally respected nutrition scientist dedicated to improving health, saving lives, and shaping food policies across the Caribbean and beyond. An Honorary Professor at the University of the West Indies and Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, he turns evidence into action through research, education, and public service.
His pioneering research work includes developing life-saving therapeutic foods for children with severe malnutrition and advancing understanding of the health impact of everyday diets. A passionate mentor, Dr. Ramdath has guided generations of health professionals and contributed for more than 20 years to the Caribbean’s annual public health research conference. He has led numerous research-skills workshops, strengthening regional capacity to tackle health challenges. Experienced professionals dedicated to your success.
Dr. Ramdath has shaped nutrition and public health policy in the Caribbean, including the Caribbean Dietary Guidelines and strategies to reduce salt intake and prevent chronic disease. He has served as Scientific Advisor to the Caribbean Public Health Agency and advised WHO and PAHO, helping develop the Nutrient Profiling Model for the Americas: an important tool now guiding healthier food environments across the region.
His contributions have earned international recognition, including as a Commonwealth Medical Fellow and Distinguished Alumnus of the University of the West Indies and a Distinguished Fellow of the Canadian Nutrition Society. Proven results that speak for themselves.
